Oracle Card reading 8~14 October. Medicine Guardian.

Our guidance for this week comes from the ‘Medicine Guardian’. A dashing chap in a green tunic – a colour often associated with Archangel Raphael and healing in general. He’s holding a ‘Caduceus’, which represents healing, and a chalice, representing wholeness.

For me, the main message from this card today is to take care of ourselves. It’s sooooo easy to get into the drudge and routine of everyday life and be doing, doing, doing and forget about being, being, being. We’re not ‘human doings’ we’re ‘human beings’ and the card reminds us that with self-care we create wholeness, and wholeness is what contributes to a happy, balanced life. He also reminds is that we’re not alone and that angelic assistance is always available when we’re struggling. The trick is to remember that it can come in all sorts of guises: whether it’s something a friend says, an article in a newspaper, or tips we hear on the radio; it’s there for us if we are open to listening.

I feel that this card in particular resonates for those who always try to be ALL things to ALL people ALL the time, by the end of which they’re an exhausted mess not knowing which way is up. If you don’t take care of you, you can’t take care of them, but tenner says there’s nothing on your day’s to do list about doing something healing just for you. You and only you.

Thing is, it doesn’t need to be big or expensive or complicated. A sit down with a cuppa and a good book can be just as nourishing as a day at the spa. Why? Because the point of self-care isn’t really about what you do, it’s about the attitude to it: allowing yourself time or space to be nourished is the healing part, and is what brings you back into wholeness.

There will always be a gazillion and one things to do on your to do list. It will never be fully clear. So take the time out here, now, while you can.

So here’s your challenge for the week. For ten to thirty minutes every day, schedule in some ‘being’ time. Time where you just stop. Phone off. WiFi off. Just you and qqquuuiiieettttt. Sit in meditation, sit with a good book, sit and look out at nature. And just be.
